File system check failure

Hello,

I got past a few hurdles in installing Mandrake, and was pretty proud of myself. I first loaded it up on another box that I know works, and then transferred it to the box I want it on. Then I was gonna run the installer again. But... When the installer is booting up, it says it's checking the file systems. Then I get the error:
Errors found on hda1 // My comment-> NTFS (WinXP)

I'm then given the option to repair the errors. The first time, I chose not to, and I got the following error:
File system check failure.

It says to press Ctrl-D to go on, but all it does is reboot. Same exact thing happens when I choose to fix the problem on hda1. What must I do? Thanks,
Patrick

It sounds like the NTFS that WinXP uses may be a lot like NTFS but not the real thing. Not too sure what to do about that one except try to get the installer to bypass this check. It would be wise to NOT ALLOW the installer to attempt to repair that partition.

So how would I go about getting the installer to bypass the file system check on the hard drive? Thanks

_That_ part i'm not sure of. Is there a basic 'text mode' install for Mandrake? That way you may have more control over how it mounts the local filesystems.

Yeah, there is a regular text mode install. But I can't get that far, because I keep getting the error.
