fglrx problems in mandriva 2007
I recently installed the ati driver in Mandriva 2007. i can use the control panel and composite out but i dont get 3d acceleration or direct rendering (so says cadega). i was told to add the line "Load "dri"" into my xorg.conf file under modules but that line is already there. also when i run "fglrxinfo" it says im using the mesa driver.

I originally used the Radeon (fglrx) driver supplied with mandriva but i didnt get the 3d acceleration so i tried to install the drivers from the ati site as shown. everything went fine but i still dont get the acceleration or direct rendering. plf didnt supply fglrx but they did have a package called ati which was already installed before i installed the drivers. i have an ATI Radeon Xpress 200m video card. i used the ati driver 8.28.8 because i know they work (ive gotten them to work in ubuntu and fedora). but im fond of mandriva and would like to remain using it. any ideas? thanks for the help. |
i tried adding the following section to my xorg.conf but it appears to have done nothing. i get the same output as above.
Section "dri" Group "video" Mode 0666 EndSection |
