FF3 won't give me the option to "open" a PDF file from my email...
...it only gives the option to Save the file. I don't want to save it. I get a PDF file nightly, which contains the next day's work orders for my job.
I'd like to just open the file. It's always attached to an email and opened using Yahoo mail. As it stands right now, I must always save it to the Desktop, then delete the previous day's file. Any idea how to change this? I've set the option to "Always Ask" in Edit --> Preferences --> Applications --> PDF Document. What else can I do? I seem to recall a fix where you'd delete a file containing all the preferences. I'd prefer not to do that, as I have them all set the way I want. Plus...and this is weird...it'll occasionally ask me to choose between opening the file or saving it. ??? Ideas? ~jp |
Have you installed the Adobe Reader 9.1 plugin for FFx? That may get you want you want.

I just prefer it that way. I also open all vids in mplayer, but not within the browser... I'm just weird that way I guess. |

This problem seems to be consistent with FF3. I didn't have it with FF2, but the problem exists across Linux distributions and across different computers that I have... |
I've used mozplugger to successfully embed pdf readers in FF before, so it should work:

You might try using the PDF download extension.
http://www.pdfdownload.org/ YOu can tell it what app to use to open a pdf with and whether to open or download it. |
