Fetching mail from remote POP and sending it to local SMTP
I have a problem it’s not really a problem but someone might know the answer.
I fetch my mail with the fetchmail and let procmail deliver mail to users, but ideally would be to send all incoming mail to 25 port via fetchmail where I have postfix & virus/mail scanner installed. I know that is defaults for fetchmail to deliver pos to 25 port but it is not working very well because fetchmail changes mail from value and postfix delivers all the incoming mail to the one particular user. Has any one knows workarounds or alternative software. Thanks a lot. Alex |
i use qmail with fetchmail for local email server to check viruses.. fetchmail works with other MTA's. fetchmail gets emails from internet server and sends them to local server. it works great.
i created get_email file under /etc and added a cron job. it gets emails in every 5 min. this is my get_email file: poll mail.example.com with proto pop3 user "maxut" there with password "12345" is "mesut@egemen" here user "info" there with password "12345" is "info@egemen" here mesut@egemen account is in my local email server mail.example.com is email server over internet. |
