feh and qiv can view some of my jpegs, but not all.
I'm setting up a system to do slideshows.
I'm using:
Damn Small Linux (latest download)
I have 3 test images. (I have more, but these will do for now)
ketchup.jpg (off the internet)
100_1246.jpg (off a Kodak camera)
pict0003.jpg (off a Konica DImage camera)
At first I could only view the ketchup.jpg image. After updating/installing the packages for imlib1, I am able to also view the 100_1246.jpg image. I still cannot view the pict003.jpg image.
When I do file xxxxxx.jpg on each of the files I get this:
ketchup.jpg: JPEG image data, JFIF standard 1.01, resolution (DPI), 96x96
100_1246.jpg: JPEG image data, EXIF standard 0.73, 10752x2048
pict0003.jpg: JPEG image data, EXIF standard 0.77, 42x0
(It is actuall 2816x2112)
I'm assuming that what I have installed doesn't handle the EXIF standard 0.77.
I've installed libimlib2_1.2.0-2.2 and libjpeg62_6b-10_i386.deb.
I have not installed libimlib2_1.3.0.0debian1-4+etch1_i386.deb or libjpeg62_6b-13_i386.deb.
The newer version of libjpeg needs a newer version of libc6, which will conflict with the e2fslibs that is installed.
I tried installing the newer e2fslibs, but that won't go either.
I hope I've offered enough info for somebody to help me. Please let me know if there is anything else I can try, or info I can give.
Actually, all the images from the one camera do not load, where-as the same file works on other systems. (The images are on a USB drive, so it's the same physical file.)
Also, since images from neither worked when I started (only 1 of 3 types of JPEGs I am using) and now at least one camera works, (2 of 3) I believe it is the drivers.
Still having this issue. It seems that libjpeg 6b-10 doesn't do EXIF jpegs. 6b-12 and up do. However, I can't get 6b-12. I can get 6b-13, but that won't install on this install of DSL, since it's kernel 2.4 and conflicts with e2fsprogs...
