As described in the installation notes, the version of GRUB used by F11 can not boot from an ext4 partition. The solution is to create a small (100-200 Mb) partition as an ext3 one and place /boot on it, leaving / on the ext4 partition.
Unless you define /boot, the default is to create it in the space allocated for / and, since / is ext4, you get the "can't boot" error.
