Fedora Core3 up2date mozilla/firefox not working

Hi all,

I am a newbie so most probably this is not the place for me to post but I need help. I installed FC3 recently and try to do the up2date it locked several times during the update it gave errors at certein files and when I try again and update just those files it installed ok. Anyway after the last error I tried yum "yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update prelink" to finallize the update. and it all installed ok now I have a check mark for the updates. However the mozilla or Firefox browsers are not starting when I click on them they wait little bit but the web browser never opens. Konqueror and other browsers work. So I think there was some problems during the update because there was files related to firefox in the update list. My question is if there is a way to role the updates back. I don't know which updates failed because most of them looks like working. If some one can help me it would be great.

Thanks for all the masters out there waiting to help.

Happy holidays

One thing to remember about RedHat/Fedora, don't use up2date, I have lost two fedora installations and one Redhat 9 install because of up2date. Always use yum, it actually works, and it does a fine job of updating and installing software.
As for Mozilla/Firefox, I can't pinpoint the problem based on what you said, but if I had to guess, it was probably due to up2date trying to update mozilla, and up2date crashed, so you might have to un-install and re-install mozilla and firefox, and all of the programs that don't work, and when you install them, if possible, do it through yum, just type yum install <package>.

ALWAYS use Apt-get. It's quick, stable, dosn't do all the shit and wastes time and screen space like yum does. go to rpmfind.net and search for apt. It may have some dependencies, but it's damn worth it
