fedora core 5 - totem cannot find libdvdcss

All,

The system is fc5 with totem-xine and libdvdcss installed. Totem finds the dvd and reads the headers, it errors on decoding the encryption with "perhaps libdvdcss is not installed". However libdvdcss is installed.

What is the best, easiest totem for fc5? Is it totem or totem-xine? What is the difference?

Thanks - Dan

Thank you,

That is a great reference. However it does not reference libdvdcss. Those are the directions I followed. Totem still errors unable to find libdvdcss.

Thanks - Dan

Thank you for the referance:

gxine is not on any of the yum servers. How is it distributed?

I have tried totem, totem-xine, and mplayer.

Totem reports missing plugins (no other clues).

Totem-xine reports missing libdvdcss (it is installed).

Mplayer cannot see the DVD, just the files.

Thanks - Dan

If you go to the xine website you will find gxine and instructions on how to build an rpm package. It very easy to do. If you don't want to build a package then download xine in its place. I got xine, mplayer, xine-lib, and libdvdcss from freshrpm.net, but I think livna has what you need. Good Luck.
