I installed fc5 on my acer aspire and everything works just fine.
When I try to Add/ Remove software the message 'unable to retrieve software information' appears.

Good Day

How are you setup to retrieve software,do you connect to the web?,or do you upgrade/update from CD??

Fedora uses a package manager called YUM,it retrieves packages from the internet so you would need to be online for this to happen, all settings are in the /etc/yum/yum.conf file
