So i just finished installing FC 3 and rebooted. Linux boots up,. then right after the hardware check, my system freezes up and i get this distorted screen images.
Any Suggestions
It very important to know the hardware requirment for the fedora versions, if your system freezes after hardware check that mens it requires some higher range of hardware and same with your display card.
If you are using an ATI video card and having problems, during the install you need to set the color to "256 Colors" instead of the default "millions of colors". This is done on the setup screen where you configure your monitor and video card.
Same problems, problem probably a default resolution problem.
Good day,
Ik noticed same problems with the NX6600GT while using Fedora Core 4, but I found a way to work with it. During installation the installation I also ended up with a froozen screen.
At this moment my PC it is working fine with the NC66000GT. It was solved by using an other Monitor that was detected automaticaly automatically! The first monitor was not detected automaticaly.
The problem with this card/driver is, probably, is that in case the monitor is not recogized, the video card is switching in default to the highest possible resolution. And this conclusion I could make after doing the installation, using the first monitor, in text-mode where after a reboot the system was started in the highest video mode with my monitor showing a 'Out of Range'. And that message wasn't shown in first case.
The second time I did the installation again using a monitor detected automaticaly with as result that everything worked fine
