Fedora Core 3 FireFox problems

Ive run into a very srange problem since I installed Fedora Core 3. Namely whenever I try to use FireFox 1.07 it times out when trying to connect to certain sites...while my version of Konqueror works fine on all sites. I think something is misconfigured because when trying to connect to websites via python scripts the same sites that time out on FireFox time out in python. The only difference Ive seen between sites that work vs sites that dont is that the ones that dont ask Konqueror if it will accept cookies .

Im too new to post url's yet but for example the hotmail site wont work.

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Thanks for any help,

Jeremy
