FC6 Virualisation

I was reading the wiki on virualisation Found Here . The one thing I need to query in particular is that it states that you cannot virtual install from a cd. What I would like to be able to do is test drive new linux releases thru virtual manager, if we cannot do this from CD how would we do it ?

So does this mean copy an image of the CD to the hard drive and create an installation from the hard drive ?

Can anyone help or expand on this if you know how to do it ?

Well dont get confused with the above statement.Its valid if you dont have gui and if you want to perform the installation using console.
So i guess this is not the case, you can install the guest OS using Virtual Machine Manger(application->tools->VMM) and here you have option to install it via iso image or cd/dvd.

And is there any specific reason of choosing FC6, well if not then SuSE 10.2 is far better if you want to have windows os as a guest. If not then FC6 works fine with having linux os as a guest but not windows. I am saying this just as my personal experience with FC6 and SuSE10.2
It might work for you, if it doesnt then try out with openSuSE.

It might work for you, if it doesnt then try out with openSuSE.

The main reason I don't use suse is still the package management, I had issues with 10.0 and then there were all the publicised issues with 10.1 and I had a look at a few reviews for 10.2 to see if it had been fixed and I could try it again, however each reviewer still had issues.

Have you had issues ?
