Hi, I had tried installing Fedora core 2 on my Intel Celeron 1G. Installation process went fine but when rebooting, error message "Windows Manager Error: Unable to open x display:1" appeared. My PC's MB has an inegrated VGA which I didn't use. Instead, i had an Nvidia display card plug in PCI slot. I notice that during the process of installation, FC2 detected the integrated VGA instead of the PCI display but everything seems fine until reboot. I had tried installing FC5 (text mode) but it didn't work as well. Guess it is also related to the display card. Pls help.

On FC5 the original kernel was flawed. Once you complete the installation you should update the kernel. Then install the nvidia driver. Read this

hi, m a newbie here. how do i do a yum kernel update when FC5 hanged on reboot after successful text installation? had been searching through the web but alot of those commands dun make sense to me.
