Failed to open VDPAU backend libvdpau_i965.so: cannot open shared object file: No suc

The livbdpau library appeared in my distribution December 23. The new mplayer wouldn't run without it. Firefox reports:

Quote:
Failed to open VDPAU backend libvdpau_i965.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
but works anyway. The docs are scanty. It would seem I'm not missing anything. I wouldn't mind having a libvdpau_i965.so (which takes its name from my video chip; the package had hardware-specific libraries for a few other chips).

VDPAU is used for video acceleration. The video card processes video instead of cpu so you have cpu power for other apps.

The error messages just says that you don't have the video acceleration library for it (Intel graphics) . That's all.
