fail to start apache with ssl

Hi all,

I have no idea on fixing this problem and I spent some time on googling with no luck. I want to start my apache with SSL support. I created a new cert and key, however, apache tells me she cannot find server.key but when I ls the ssl.key directory. The file exists and is of non-zero size.
How can I fix that?

Quote:
tsun@K-Zone:~$ sudo cp new.cert.crt /etc/apache/ssl.crt/server.crt
tsun@K-Zone:~$ sudo cp new.cert.key /etc/apache/ssl.key/server.key
tsun@K-Zone:~$ /etc/rc.d/rc.httpd start
Syntax error on line 136 of /etc/apache/mod_ssl.conf:
SSLCertificateKeyFile: file '/etc/apache/ssl.key/server.key' not exists or empty
/usr/sbin/apachectl startssl: httpd could not be started
tsun@K-Zone:~$ sudo ls /etc/apache/ssl.key/server.key
/etc/apache/ssl.key/server.key
tsun@K-Zone:~$ sudo ls /etc/apache/ssl.key/server.key -l
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 887 2005-06-26 01:30 /etc/apache/ssl.key/server.key
Thanks.

Is the directory readable? Can you post the output from:
ls -la /etc/apache/ssl.key
stat /etc/apache/ssl.key/server.key

Oh, I forgot the permission problem.
The folder is set to root "rwx" initially. (rwx------)

Thank david_ross for pointing it out!
