F-spot Photo Manager in Ubntu 9.04

Hi
I hv ubuntu 9.04 on my netbook. It has preinstalled F-spot photo manager. But after I click on any of its options ,it closes automatically. eg,I clicked 'Import' to import photos and it close. Same with almost all such icons.
Does anybody know why is this happening.

Your system log or Xorg log or your personal ~/.xsession-errors.log (if any) may hold clues. Else try starting the application from a terminal window int the hope it throws some errors.

Ubuntu 9.04 was released April 2009 and all support ended October 2010. This means it will never receive any more bug fixes, security updates, etc. because it is "end of life." I recommend trying the current Ubuntu release (10.10) as it will give you the latest software applciations and bug fixes.
