Hey guys and gurls... i almost stuck this in the gameing forum.. but its probably better suited here ?
basically a few questions on .wad file formats.
seems this format hasnt been used much since quake1 so i cant find ANY info on them.
i have downloaded replacement hi-res skins for quake 1.
but they were intended for a quake engine re-programmed to
load textures s jpegs from a ./textuer/ folder.
so what i want to do is take my quake gfx.wad file, extract the textures, then replace some of them with the enhanced hi-res textures, then put them all back into a wad file.
what software will i need to do this ?
ALSO... does any1 forsee any problems with a gfx.wad file containing old origonal low res quake textures AND newer hi res textures ?
the quake engine im running is by quakeforge
