Extract contents from an ISO

I am wondering if there is a way to extract the files from an ISO. The ISO was downloaded from the internet onto my harddrive. I would like to be able to unzip the contents of the ISO. Do I have to burn the image to a disk in order to view the contents?

To avoid confusion, I should mention that I know very well how to burn ISOs onto disks and I know how to view the contents of a CD that was created from an ISO. This is not what I am trying to do.

mount the iso image and copy whatever files do you want

as root

You can also use WINRAR. It lists out all the files and you can extrace the files you want.
