ext2(3) or reiserFS>

Which filesystem is better to use. I'd say that reiserfs is a litle bit slower but more reliable than ext2, but I'm not shure. What about ext3?

Thanks on answers....

well some like one and some like the other....everyones going to have there own opinion, so i guess that won't really help and i would think the best thing for you to do is read up on these both filesystems, and see which one catches your eye so to speak...
i personally use reiserfs on my slack server, and ext3 on my redhat box...

I've been using ReiserFS for longer than I've been using my current distro. I'd swear by it myself. When I was using EXT2 and had an accidentally bad shutdown (power loss etc), EXT2 was a nightmare to fix. ReiserFS was a Godsend.

I have heard good things about EXT3 as well. One thing is certain though, you really should be using a journalized filesystem as opposed to the older EXT2. EXT3 is more likely to be supported by third party apps like PartitionMagic for those who duel boot (not me).

In the end you just have to weigh the ups and downs and decide for yourself.
