exporting mail account from thunderbird to a new machine (also tbird)

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
Hi guys,

got myself in a pickle and hoping you guys can help me out. alright, ive got one machine with thunderbird as the email client, and we need to move to a different machine now, and we no longer remember the password for the email account, and are unable to do a password reset.

how would I export it from one thunderbird client to another thunderbird client, or is it easier to bring it to another client, eitherway i dont care, so long as i can export it from the old machine to the new machine. (could even be windows, i really dont care)

thanks

I am not really clear as to what you are trying to do? However, If you are trying to use the same thunderbird data, have you tried to pull .thunderbird, from your home dir ?Can you be more clear as to what you are trying to do?

Yep. It should be in your homefolder. I use to sym link my .thunderbid so it can be used no matter if im on gentoo, or if im on any other linux using thunderbird. For a while I even had it sym linked over on my windows so I could share my config between windows and linux. I dont use windows anymore so I dont do that.
