exporting/importing thunderbird settings

Hi

After you set up your email accounts on thunderbird, you usually create
folders and filters. In some cases it's quite time consuming.

Is it possible to do it once and then export/import the folder/filter settings?

thanks

I am not sure if there is a specific export function for your entire account, but certainly you could just copy the .thunderbird directory onto a new machine and have everything replicated.

Unless you are trying to duplicate the folders and filters, but not the actual account?

What I mean is only the filters and folders. Anyway I tried to copy the entire thunderbird directory
however, the new thunderbird won't start. I'll keep trying to tamper with this folder, hopefully, it will work.

I've just rebuilt my machine, with Slack 12, and moved my Thunderbird folder from one disk to another without any problems.

What error do you get when you start it.

Cheers.

It works now.

Silly of me, I forgot to change the ownership of the .thunderbird directory

thanks
