Evolution - problems after first setup
I am running redhat 7.3, pretty much standard, using ppp to connect. I set up Evolution, which seems very nice, set up both mail accounts on pop and smtp, collected some mail, felt good, and closed Evolution.
When I open evolution again, I have to set up the accounts every time. Having done this, the previously downbloaded mail is still there.....
Somehow, either the setup of mail accounts doesn't save, or the config file doesn't load or what?
I use Evolution with Mandrake 8.2 with no problems. Will see if I can help. Open Evo and open tools on menu. Select "accounts" and if your account name and address are still there, hightlight it and select "edit". Make sure all of the information is correct, then select "make this my default account","apply" and "OK". Highlight your account again, click "edit"and open "receiving options". There you can set if you want to check your mail every few minutes and if you want to leave your messages on server. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. The accounts save OK, and if I leave Evolution loaded, no problems, but if I close it, it loses the accounts, so on opening Evolution, you have to go through account setup before you get to the menu - this wouldn't be so odd, but it doesn't lose existing mail messages!
I think it must be that config and mail are in different folders, maybe a permissions issue, but I have to go to work now, so I'll investigate this evening.
