Evolution multiple accounts - servers BUG?

I was always using Ximian Evolution (1.4)...

Until now...

I've got a new internet connection (ADSL) and i've configured the new mail box into Evolution...

Since then, I receive my mail but couldn't sent anything at all... I've tried to send from the new account and from the old one (which was ok and isn't down), but always get this error message:
-------------------------------------
Error while performing operation:
MAIL FROM response error: Syntax error, command unrecognized
-------------------------------------

So i got back to Mozilla's mail configured my new account (the old one was already there), configured the "unique" mail sending server (as opposed to the multiple outgoing servers configuration of Evolution)... And it works like a charm!

The only difference i saw is the port # of the server which is shown in the Mozilla account configuration... If you go into Evolution's account configuration, there's no port# for the outgoing server...???

And no, it's not typo's or different configuration from Mozilla and Evolution... I did triple check the settings of the two to be sure... :study:

HELP PLEASE!
Paul.

I've gotten that error myself once, I clicked send and recieve again and it worked with no problems. Have you tried using the port# in the configuration in Evolution? Usually you can just place the smtp server name followed by a :<port-number>

Nope...

The server name followed by the :port# (:25 in my case), didn't worked at all...

And I've used the send / receive button many times...

For now, i'm converted to Mozilla Thunderbird...

Hope to switch back to Evolution again soon...

Regards,
Paul.

OK... Now i've tested with only one account, replicating the same i have configured in MozillaThunderbird (working like a charm!), and Evolution doesn't work at all for sending emails!!!

Ouch!... I was "sold" to Evolution a week ago, but now... I can't even use it!!!

BTW, my Evolution is 1.4...

I'm very disapointed with it! :tisk:

And i'm almost converted to MozillaThunderbid... I was missing the RECEIPT, PRIORITY and some other functions that just wasn't there is Evolution...

Anyhow... If someone can provide me a solution to my problem... I'll be happy(??) to get back to Evolution...

Regards,
Ti-Paul.
