Evolution Icon Disappeard From Desktop and KDE Taskbar
Evolution/Email Problem
I just installed Ximian Evolution 1.2.2 using red-carpet, which I also just downloaded. After rebooting my laptop, my email icon disappeared from the KDE taskbar. In addition, the email icon on my desktop was replaced with a different icon that reads, "redhat-email.desktop." When I double click on that icon, I get the error message below: "The desktop entry file /usr/share/applications/redhat-email.desktop has no Type=... entry." I am currently running Red Hat 8.0 (kernel 2.4.18-24.8.0) and KDE 3.00.00. Any help offered would be greatly appreciated! Eric |
I have at least restored the icons, using a right mouse-click on the red hat icon in the taskbar to open the Menu Editor, which I used to put an Evolution icon in my menu. Also, I used a right mouse-click on my taskbar itself to add a button there using the Add/Button command.
However, I still don't know what to do about the strange redhat-email.desktop icon that has appeared on my desktop. Any suggestions would still be appreciated. I just want to make sure that I don't have some funky setting wrong that may affect the performance / execution of any of my user apps. Thanks for any help offered, Eric |
