Hi all,

Running gentoo now- wow a BILLION times better than RH9- and having problems receiving email through evolution...

Don't know why this is, all my internet and everything from instant messaging to SENDING email works! I just can't receive, no errors or anything, all the pop info is correct and it appears to login to my pop server, but just never gets me my email!

See if you actually have email on the pop server, if that is what your ISP uses.

telnet <mail-server-name> 110

user <username>

pass <password>

Then to list, just type:

list

And it should list any messages you have.

If your not using your ISP's mail, let us know of course, could be a different problem.

Also, test by sending a test message to yourself, from yourself. Maybe your not getting any mail :confused:

I recall having the same problem once before when I used evolution, I solved that problem by disabling ssl and by check marking a box that said my isp required authentication.

I have the same problems with evo. It will log into 2 of my 3 accts on the same pop server and then error out on the last one. Dunno, may be a bug. I have tried a few different config options with no luck. I may if I think of it check for a bug report. I use sylpheed mainly so I don't need it but I like the news feeds so it would be nice to get it working.
