Evolution compilation problem (db3 version)

I have been trying to install Ximian Evolution 1.4.6 for quite some time now and never seem to manage.

When I compile it it gives an error

checking db3 header version... configure: error: Found db.h is not version 3.1.17

which is really strange because I have db3-3.3.11 (I mean 3.3.11 > 3.1.17)

Please, help. 10x in advance

I have the same problem..
swaret on Slackware reports:

Listing all available Packages...
db3-3.3.11-i486-4 (631 kB) [Status: INSTALLED]
db31-3.1.17-i486-1 (495 kB) [Status: INSTALLED]

Yet Evolution doesn't see that I have 3.1.17. This is Evolution 1.4.6 btw.

Hm.. this works (for the include file):

./configure --with-db3-includes=/usr/include/db31

Make sure you have db31 installed (3.1.7), NOT the db 3.3.11.
