Unhappy Evolution and GPG signing error

Hey Ya'll.
I'm hoping you can help me out with a little problem I'm having.
I run Suse 9.1 2.6.5-7.108-default kernel.
I run Evolution 1.4.6 installed via YAST.
I used the program KGpg to generate GPG keys, went through (pretty much a next-next-next) type thing.

I then went into Evolutions mail settings, security tab, and specified my secure ring. ~/.gnupg/secring.gpg (or /home/yadayada/.gnupg/secring.gpg)

However, when I go to actually encrypt or sign an email, I get the following error from Evolution:
gpg: skipped `/home/npm001/.gnupg/secring.gpg': secret key not available
gpg: signing failed: secret key not available

Thinking that there may be something wrong with my GPG install, I did a gpg -e -s junkdata.txt.
it asked me for my password, which I supplied, then told it what key I wanted to encrypt the file for. It worked just fine.
I *think* that there's nothing wrong with gpg, more so, a problem (or more likely a config error on my part) with Evolution, but I have absolutely no clue what.

I tried going to support.ximian.com, but got re-directed to support.novell.com, which, in turn directed me to support.ximian.com. Google search lets me know that I'm not the first person to have this issue, but no thread I found indicated a solution.

If anyone has any advice / tips, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I did find something from Sun Java Desktop that talked about uncommenting use-agent from gpg.conf.

It made no difference.. Still looking

okay, found it... answer courtesy of Gawain Lynch (not an LQ member)

1. Get your correct key ID (do this anyway just to double check)

$ gpg --list-keys

You will get some output like this:

pub 1024D/5BECD197 2004-09-19 Reboot Kid <rebootkid@nateandamy.org>
sub 2048g/ACE9C67B 2004-09-19

The key ID you need is the one on the 'sub' line, i.e. ACE9C67B

Obviously yours will be different

2. Open evolution select Tools -> Settings

3. Select the mail account you want to update and click Edit
and go to the Security Tab

4. Fill the "PGP/GPG Key ID" field with 8 zeros (00000000)

5. Press OK

6. Repeat steps 3, 4 and 5 only this time paste/transcribe the sub key
ID in to the "PGP/GPG Key ID" field
