Evolution 2.10.02 with exchange-server crashing on PCLinuxOS

I'm sort of stuck running Evolution because it provides an exchange-server. Using it allows me to access my office mail. I have a Gentoo system that usually runs OK but is currently out of commission. I also have a client running on PCLinuxOS installation with KDE.

This morning I found that it had crashed. No problem I thought, I'd just start it over. From CLI I ran "evolution --force-shutdown" to kill client services and ran evolution again from CLI. It crashed again immediately. There were indications of DBUS and ldap errors that I'd never seen.

In the past, if things get wonky, I've deleted "~/.evolution/exchange" and this will help things, but not in this case.

Has anyone seen something like this before, or can offer any advice?

Your kind advice is appreciated.

Evolution crashes

Yes, these things do happen.

I vaguely recall about a year ago that a similar thing happened with Evolution, but was patched up really fast.

Your post is almost a month old. I assume that you have found a fix by now. If not, try to update your Evolution. (Yeah, I know that's is real encouraging to hear.) And if you can't update, see if you can backport your previous version.

Good luck!

Hi!
I "solved" the problem, but it was really brute force. I eventually deleted everything in ".gconf..." and ".gnome...", too. Was aiming to just hit the evolution stuff, but couldn't exactly sort out wheat from chaff.
Going forward, I decided not to combine my Exchange server with POP server, and I'm now running Thunderbird at the same time. It's not a problem to have to recreate the Exchange database since the data resides on the server anyway.
I appreciate you taking the time to reply.
