Evolution 1.2.2 not syncing with Palm mail

Hello, everyone. I finally figured out how to get my Sony Clie SJ-33 to work with Mandrake 9.1, but I'm having a couple of problems with Evolution 1.2.2 that I can't seem to get around

First, Evolution's Contacts aren't synchronizing with the Palm OS's Address Book. This isn't a huge deal, since I have been able to import the Address Book entries from JPilot (still, it seems odd that even with the EAddress conduit enabled, Evolution's never heard of my Address Book entries). If anyone has any suggestions here, that would be great, but my real problem is this:

E-mail from my Evolution inbox isn't making it into my Clie's Mail application. Every scrap of documentation I have read on Evolution's Palm synchronization seems to take it as a matter of course that, once properly configured, e-mail messages will flow back & forth between Evolution and the Palm without trouble. As far as I can tell, everything IS properly configured, yet there's no obvious e-mail conduit in my gnome-pilot settings, and I haven't been able to find reference to one anywhere. I can't imagine that the e-mail functionality would work without a conduit. Any ideas?

Aside from Contacts and e-mail, everything else that's supposed to happen between Evolution and Palm goes as advertised (i.e., Calendar synchronizes with Datebook, and Tasks synchronize with the ToDo List). Full synchronization with my PDA is one of the last hurdles to my adopting Linux full-time and feeding it what remains of my WinME partition, so I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

Whoops. I guess I'm more of an idiot than I thought...

Some articles I've read seem to indicate that Evolution will synchronize e-mail with a Palm OS device; yet a post (apparently from Ximian themselves) on a Ximian mailing list indicates that inbox synchronization is not supported. Sorry for the waste of space.

If anyone can suggest a fix for the Contacts/Address Book problem (or knows of another way to get e-mail from Mandrake 9.1 to a Palm OS handheld), I'd sure appreciate it.

I had problems ith my Palm III and solved them by upgrading to Evolution 1.4. I am now able to compose mail on the Palm and have it send on synchronisation. Not able to copy mail to the Palm from the pc though, if you fix the problem please post, I for one would be interested.
