Everything in Mandrake 9.1 is buggy as hell
 

Is it just me, and the thousands of other people pi***d off, or is just about everything in Mandrake 9.1 rotten? -or is it every linux distribution?
Seriously i have so much less troubles with windows 98, that is scary if u didnt pick that up.
Why are we forced to live in a world of sh**house operating systems, all i have to say is:
GOD HAS FORSAKEN US!!!!

and btw is it just me or does everything run sweet one night then u boot up in the morning and something isnt working?
....which usually takes 2hrs to fix up or just screw with it enough that it gives up hassling u.

i hate penguins >:(

Whatever. I have been running Mandrake 9.1 for months without any problems. Maybe you should take the time to learn what you are doing.

yeah ok. I'll take your thousands of p*ssed off people and raise you the thousands who use 9.1 everyday. Including myself. It has bugs, no worse (and in my opinion way better) than windows.

Here's a tip: If you want help, be nice, ask for help, give details...if you've spent ANY time reading this forum you'll see many people try to help...if not, why don't you go home and grow up a little uh?

its a simple question of do I want to learn how to run linux or do i want to run windows.
Its not the computer, its the user.
If you dont like it, change it. If you cant change it, learn how to change it.
If you dont want to learn, run windows.

a tool is only as good as its user, just because you cant use it doesnt make it buggy. and in case you think im biased i cant stand mandrake either, its to XP'ish for me.

I have been using Mandrake for 2 months. I couldn't figure out any other Linux version. Mandrake has been really good in the sense that it allows newbies to figure out what's going on, while at the same time being able to easily install drivers and plug-ins. I'm about ready to re-tackle red-hat. But without Mandrake I wouldn't have the expertise to continue learning.

The only problem I ever had with mandrake is I never had alot to do in it. It all ran nice and nothing had to be fixed. I like to have to make a distro run right and mandrake never let me do this because of lack of bugs. I think you should just walk away from the computer, and go play hacky sack or something. If you are not willing to learn than don't use a computer.

I know this may not really be my place to say much since I'm just a newbie to this forum but Linux is not something you just load and go, you acutally have to occasionally read and break and fix a few things from time to time. In the time I've been around linux I've realized that if I don't know why something broke and I can't find it in the 'man' pages or in a book; I'm guaranteed that someone has had the same problem as me and has the answer.

To blast and flame the thing that you have decided to do and then to tear that those that can help you is like kicking an ambulance driver when he shows up to help you after you've gotten into and accident in your car.

Remember you didn't start knowing about computers from the first time you turned on your TRS-80 (dating myself there), you screwed up and made mistakes and you went to anyone you knew that had a computer and asked them for help. The computer industry is a set of stairs and we're all on it, some below us in knowledge and some above in knowledge and 'noone' knows every thing. Linux is a hive mind collective with (not like the MS-Borg - to assimilate) the ideals to continue to create and add and change; not to mention if something 'is' broke, 1000's of people are out there just looking for something else to fix. If this challenge of learning something new and expanding your mind to free thinking is not comfortable to you, then don't do it, and stick with what you know and what you're comfortable with.

If you've got Hardware configuration problems, perhaps you should use your energy on sorting those issues out rather than exagerating any software issues.
