Angry Eterm make problems

hi, i'm trying to install Eterm in Slak 9.0. When the ./configure finishes and I type make it immediately fails with the following message:

Eterm 0.9.2
Configuration:
--------------

Source code location: .
Host System Type: i686-pc-linux-gnu
Preprocessor: gcc -I/usr/local/include
Compiler: gcc -g -O2
Linker: gcc -L/usr/local/lib -L/usr/X11/lib -last -lImlib2 -lttf -ldl -lSM -lICE -last -lXmu -lXext -lX11 -lutil -lm
Install path: /usr/local

See src/feature.h for further configuration information.

Now type 'make' to build Eterm 0.9.2.

bash-2.05b# make
make all-recursive
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/local/src/Eterm-0.9.2'
Making all in src
make[2]: Entering directory `/usr/local/src/Eterm-0.9.2/src'
/bin/sh ../libtool --mode=compile gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I/usr/local/include -g -O2 -c actions.c
../libtool: line 1: s%^.*/%%: No such file or directory
../libtool: line 1: -e: command not found
../libtool: line 1: -e: command not found

make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/Eterm-0.9.2'
make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2
bash-2.05b#

I'm assuming that the problem has something to do with:

../libtool: line 1: s%^.*/%%: No such file or directory

since "make -k" produces the same error msg for every file and directory.

I've checked out libtool and "s%^.*/%%" appears countless times all over the file in various expressions. My scripting knowledge is weak so I have no idea what to do about this.

Any suggestions???
