esd and alsa


hello,

i really have no clue about alsa nor esd, but programs that use sound have been complainng about audo_alsa and it not finding any cards. when i run esd i get that error too:

[root@nitrogen root]# esd
audio_alsa: no cards found!
[root@nitrogen root]#

any ideas?

may be u have to enable kudzu which checks for new h/w components.Then u have to restart kudzu.

I have the same problem. I've got the Slackware 9.1 and I haven't got kudzu. Have anyone any other idea?
