Errors in building UCAR's Titan5 software using Scientific Linux 6.3

In attempting to install the Titan5 software from UCAR's website, I thought I had included all the required libraries to build it. I followed the installation guide and build me guide available on:

ftp://ftp.rap.ucar.edu/pub/titan/dis...README_INSTALL

ftp://ftp.rap.ucar.edu/pub/titan/dis...n/README_BUILD

ftp://ftp.rap.ucar.edu/pub/titan/dis...ME_LINUX_SETUP

I am using a 64 bit, Scientific Linux release 6.3 on a hard drive on a windows command line based laptop.

Titan5 requires a symbolic link to be created to a rap directory where building takes place.

The following is available under the rap directory:

aclocal.m4 configure LICENSE
apps configure.ac make_bin
autom4te.cache configure.bak Makefile
bin configure.base makefile.am
bin64 CVS makefile.in
building_netcdf.howto.txt data make_include
build_netcdf depcomp missing
build_titan distribs projects
build_titan_apps doc README_BUILD
build_titan_libs include README_INSTALL
check_build_env incs README_LINUX_SETUP
check_titan_apps install_cshrc RELEASE_NOTES
check_titan_libs install-sh set_build_env
clean_titan_build java TERMS_OF_USE
config.guess lib ubuntu_10.10_packages.txt
config.h.in lib64 ubuntu_9.10_packages.txt
config.sub libs WARRANTY_DISCLAIMER

Inside of the rap directory I typed the command ./set_build_env -64 to set up the 64 bit environment. Then I typed in ./build_titan.

The build takes a while but I recieve the following errors:

These errors do affect the user's ability to utilize key portions of the software.

How do I fix these errors and get the correct libraries and apps?

Thanks!

Have you asked your professor or the other under/post grads for help ?

a quick look at
http://www.ral.ucar.edu/projects/titan/home/
looks like this is going to be rather complicated

and this is from someone who uses NASA/JPL/USGS software for image processing on spacecraft imaging data
( Cassini,Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter,Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, MESSENGER,... )
