error when installing Madrake 8.2


i cant get the installation for Linux-Mandrake 8.2 to start. when i follow the directions to start installion it starts to find alll the hardware, then its says loading from cd but then it displays this error:

"error in exec of stage 2 :-(
FATAL ERROR IN STAGE 1: Not a directory

i can't recover from this
you may reboot yours system"

i have no clue what this means or what the hells the problem, thanks in advance for your help

Did you check md5sum before burning the CD's? Or is it retail?

nah i didnt check them, i guess i should, i figured the image was cool cause i had no problems burning but i did forget to check those this time. ill do that and see what happens.

yeah i checked it and it was correct, so its not the CD.

Just because the md5sum matches dosn't mean you don't have a bad cd, try burning another copy and see if it works.
