Post error message in download manager

Hi,

i am new in ubuntu

when i start updating after the download is finish, on the installation, the report says:

Quote:

dpkg: too-long line or missing newline n `/var/lib/dpkg/diversions'
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)
A package failed to install. Trying to recover:
plz help...

sudo apt-get check
