hey,
i wanted to install SuperKaramba for suse 9.1 running kde. Yast couldn't find it, so I went ahead and unzipped the .tar file and did a ./configure. I got this out put in the log file.

i feel your pain brother. on my system (slackware 10.1) it fails a truckload of python dependancies (eventhough i have the needed files installed.) i have yet to see this program run on anything.
ok, i did some digging, and what i came up with was this...you need gcc (gnu c compiler) for darn near everything. it looks as is your install skipped those packages. i'm not that familiar with suse, but if you can use rpm's or slackware packages, then you can probably just grab what you need from a distro's ftp server. if not, then you may have to reinstall over top of what you have. if you don't repartition or format the drive, all your programs and settings will be waiting for you after the re-installation. it works under slackware, and i don't imagine suse will be all that different. as for the python problems i was having, i found a tarball with a fix for it. runs pretty good now, and it's a lot of fun. let me know it this helps you out, man.
