Error in wine... any possible solution?

I am trying to run an application through wine and am getting the follow output

Code:
Could not stat /mnt/fd0 (No such file or directory), ignoring drive A:
Could not stat /cdrom (No such file or directory), ignoring drive D:
fixme:commctrl:InitCommonControlsEx Unknown class! dwICC=0x8000
fixme:ole:CoRegisterMessageFilter stub
err:imagelist:ImageList_ReplaceIcon no color!
err:x11drv:X11DRV_CreateWindow invalid window height 0
err:x11drv:X11DRV_CreateWindow invalid window height -1107641748
fixme:dialog:MSGBOX_OnInit task modal msgbox ! Not modal yet.
The first two are not all that important... however, how can I fix the rest? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Shareaza 1.8.10.8

It installed fine... no errors. But I see the splash screen and it locks up on "Loading GUI"

maybe there is something "new" in that version causing it to crash ...
cause if you read the below link :
http://appdb.winehq.com/appview.php?...versionId=1973

it apparently works perfectly without any additional steps ...
so maybe you can see if you can dig up that version of the app ...

or .....

you can save yourself the grief of trying to do this, as there is hundreds of p2p clients
available for linux ... there is no need to run a windows p2p app ...

I agree... but I have not found one I am satisfied with... I was hoping I could just get away with using this one (which I have had good luck with). xMule and aMule are just not doing it for me...

Ill have to see if I can find that version... It gives me a Visual C++ Runtime "Buffer Overflow" error... wierd.

well one of the most popular recommended programs is giFT ...
Apollon is a kde-client for giFT
and here is a list of a couple hundred apps

i personally prefer DCGUI-QT

hopefully you will see that there are programs just as good, and imo better, then
trying to resort to run a windows p2p app ...

i am certain, that my problem is not rooted in wine itself, but i need help to solve it.
dist: deby, sarge.

i installed photoshop 5.5, and it was good. but when i tried to start it, it got frozen by the state "initalizing..." (the window came up, and all the visuals were ok.

i got this: wine .wine/fake_windows/Program\ Files/Adobe/Photoshop\ 5.5/Photoshp.exe

// it is all right to start with this command?

fixme:keyboard:X11DRV_KEYBOARD_DetectLayout Your keyboard layout was not found!
Using closest match instead (Hungarian keyboard layout) for scancode mapping.
Please define your layout in dlls/x11drv/keyboard.c and submit them
to us for inclusion into future Wine releases.
See the Wine User Guide, chapter "Keyboard" for more information.
fixmealette:GetICMProfileA (0x7a8, 0x4068de9c, 0x4068e0a0): partial stub
fixme:system:EnumDisplayDevicesA ((nil),0,0x4068def8,0x00000000), stub!

Major opcode of failed request: 149 (XInputExtension)
Minor opcode of failed request: 28 (X_GetDeviceButtonMapping)
Serial number of failed request: 969
Current serial number in output stream: 969

i understand the first few line, that is related to the hungarian keymapping. but that is i guess nothing to do with the crash.

and another interresting thing, when i try to start winecfg, then it crashes when i click at the X11drv label. the terminal says:

balu@eddie:~$ winecfg

fixme:winecfg:WinMain The winecfg tool is not yet complete, and does not actuall
y alter your configuration.

That is a good site for Wine that might be able to help. I regretfully can not help with your specific problem as I also had problems getting Photoshop (although it was version 7) to run properly.

Im just starting out in Wine myself... its not easy :S

elitecodex: thanks, it did help.

now my wine is working, i am only writing this, to help others with this problem.

So do not use debian's apt-get install wine! It doesn't work correctly. Maybe it can, but 4 exsample in my case it didn't. Compile it from source, and everything will be all rigth.
