error debugging the udev daemon

hi ppl,
i am debugging the udev daemon to check the messages sent by udev to hal.. i have compiled it with -g opion and debugging it as root too but i get the following error message in the middle of the debug session..
(gdb) n
[tcsetpgrp failed in terminal_inferior: Operation not permitted]

Any idea what it is?
