error connecting with amsn
 

Hi there

I just installed amsn, it seems to load up fine. When I try to connect to msn it comes back with an "Error connecting to server". At first I thought that the company FW was blocking the connection but then I tried to connect via modem and the same thing happened. I also disabled the local FW on the PC. I heard that the ports it connects are 6890-6895 I therefor tried to add those ports to the services file with no luck.

What should try next , Help Please

the port that it uses for sending text is different than the one it uses for sending files sometimes, check under preferences.

also, can you connect thru the msn plugin using gaim?

what linux are you using?

I have instructions for installing the source on the red hat 9 page of my guide. They would apply to virtually any linux though, since it is a source. In fact, I think I may move it to my software page.

I´m using RH9.

What do u mean I must check my prefrences
