Error compiling iptables 1.2.7a

Is it possible to build iptables 1.2.7a against 2.4.2 kernels?
(RH7.1 stock kernel). I keep getting compilation errors when
compiling against the kernel headers.

get a new kernel

I have 1.2.6a here and it says it needs 2.4.4 in the INSTALL file so most likely 1.2.7a will need an even newer kernel.

I upgraded to 2.4.18 (RH8.0 stock kernel) but still get compile
errors...

My include paths are set correctly and yes, I did upgrade the
kernel-headers (glibc-kernheaders-2.4-7.20.i386.rpm) when I upgraded the kernel.

If you have a 2.4.18 kernel you need a 2.4.18 kernel headers, 2.4.7 headers may have some missing bits.
