I installed eroaster and on a slack 9.1 distro. Everything seems to be working fine with accessing the writer/reader, but when I try to rip audio cds or create iso images (basically read to disk) it errors out. The error message says something like "most likely no disk space." This, of course is not true.

The temp file I'm using is in the user's directory. Nothing wierd.

Any suggestions... Do the permissions on the tmp file need to be somthing weird?

could you please prove that with a df output?

there is no special permsissions required if you can create a /tmp/ file yourself it should be fine.

See that's what I thought. Unfortunately I'm at work and away from my machine. I'll send the full eroaster output when I get home. as far as proving that i'm not out of disk space it's an 8 gig partition with about 50 megabyte on it (fresh install)...

What exactly did you mean by "df output"? I'm still new to some of the terms.

Wow after I asked that I felt like an idiot after I asked that last question thanks for being so kind acid... OK so here's what happened (now that the problem is sorta solved). Eroaster is using /tmp/david as it's scratch file even though I put in /home/david/tmp under preferences. That is why I was getting the errors.

After realizing this, I uninstalled and reinstalled it (from source) but my preferences were still there, and it was still doing the same thing (using /tmp/david) as its scratch.

And now I can only run Eroaster as a user. If I log in as root it errors out with "Programing Error." But as a user all seems to be functioning fine. Weird.

Any help would be great.
