Equalizer in XINE?
OK, I quit!
How do i enable the equalizer in xine? I've spent an hour now trying to get to tamper with it, but to no avail, I just can't move the sliders. How do i get 'equalizer rights?'
Mandrake 9.1
Rock on.

Same problem in Mandrake 9.2 with xine playing oggs from a playlist. The card I have is soundblaster live oem (not sure exact model, etc, but cheapest I could get about a year and a half ago, nothing fancy).
I confess I haven't put hours into it, as the sound I'm getting is actually good (decent altec lansing speakers), but if I was to mess with it I would try different sound sources to see if eq works with some but not others, vague recollection of that being the case once upon a time with something else.

I tried xmms too. I could get the sliders on the eq to move, but noticed no difference in the sound, no matter how dramatic the eq settings. And yes, I did remember to click 'on'. In fact I toggled it on and off and no difference.
Do you notice any difference in sound when you mess with the eq in xmms, that is, does it sound like it works or only looks like it works?

Weird. I guess I'm just fortunate I don't really need that feature. Otherwise I think I'd make more of an effort to compile from source and be sure I had all the bits and pieces required for it. Good luck getting the Xine equalizer to work as well.
