I've wasted over an hour looking for help with epiphany browser, which must be the world's most difficult to use browser.
Note: I assume that I am running epiphany 3.4 because I am running 3.4.4-2 Arch


My questions are as follows:

1) How does one delete history in epiphany browser?
2) How does one selectively delete cookies in epiphany browser?
3) Does anyone know of a good tutorial for epiphany browser since google is of no help?
4) Can one configure ephiphany browser to look like a traditional browser, so that normal people who are not 'computer science' grad students can actually epiphany browser productively?
5) How does one access the "Personal data whatever" in epiphany browser?

Any help would be appreciated. Although I do run Arch (encrypted lvm dual booting with vista), I would appreciate non technical responses because you're talking to someone who cannot setup p3scan.

Welcome to the forums!

Why not install Firefox, Chrome, Opera, etc? Epiphany browser is so statistically insignificant you won't even find it mentioned in most browser usage studies.

I actually use one browser for each task. One browser is for banking, another for email. Firefox is, in my opinion, my most secure browser once extensions are added, so I use it for general surfing.
I had a plan for epiphany which was great in the past. However, I do not want to learn a new way to do the same old task. Based on your number of posts, if you tell me (based on your experience with epiphany 3.4) that learning to use epiphany will be this arduous task that will amount to learning a new way of using a browser without a SIGNIFICANT increase in efficiency and an improved sufing experience, than I'll dump it.

I've used epiphany-browser briefly in the past, and found it to be very easy for basic websurfing tasks. I'm sorry I don't know the answer to more technical questions such as selectively deleting cookies. Mostly I use Firefox or Chrome these days. Again, I thank you, but I looked at the Gnome's documentation for Epiphany 3.4 long before I posted in this forum. Gnome's spartan documentation for Epiphany left me feeling disgusted with Gnome.

I realize that Epiphany is open sourced and free, and typically, I would never criticize open source software out of respect for individuals and small under funded volunteers who create great open source software for us all. However, as one of the leaders in open source software, Gnome should be ashmed of itself as it pertains to the Epiphany browser, version 3.4.

In my opnion, Epiphany is without a doubt the most difficult to use browser in the Entire World. Google is also useless with respect to documentation on Epiphany 3.4.

Unless someone has some solid tutorials on epiphany, tutorials which would answer my original questions, I see myself never ever using it. While Epiphany was once a great browser, it is now trash because of its weirdness, complexity and lack of documentation.

Despite the foregoing, I sincerely appreciate your efforts to help me. Please do not take my opinions as expressed above as a reflection of what I think of your efforts. I assure you the negativity is confined to the browser.

I do not know what GIT is. The daunting thing is that I do not know enough to write documentation, especially for this woeful incarnation( ver 3.4) of the Epiphany browser. Perhaps the IRC would help. Documentation should fall into two categories: advanced and layperson. The latter should be step by step. Additionally, it should not refer to ideas, links or interfaces that have not been previously identified (recently referenced if the documentation is long) nor should technical terms be substituted for layperson's level explanations.

I'll never understand how revamping a perfectly good browser, especially when documentation is not provided, constitutes a step forward, aka progress.
