Anybody know if they plan to work on a good plugin extension? Or if there is already one in progress?

Plugins are a pain to install with just about all browsers other than IE right now...needs work...any news/info would be greatly appreciated.

Hard? For java, its just an "ln -s" and flash has an installer.

Shockwave for linux would be nice though.

auh yes...I loved telling my brother how to install Java....

1) download from java.com
2) find on harddrive
3) make executable
4) issue "rpm -ivh j2re..blalblahblah
5)issue symbolic links because java doesn't check for or automatically install in your /bin or /plugins folders
6) restart your browser

Compared to IE: 1) click on "yes i'd like to install plugin"

And I've had hell with flash actually working with different browsers. Also, similar problem to above (download, open terminal, find, install).

Unless we have plugin developers here or browser developers here, I doubt anyone is going to tell you if they are working on better plugin support, etc...

I hate flash on websites anyways.. its pretty but I use the web for resource most of the time, not pretty flash type thingy's on a website. Oh well..

Auh yes, i remember why i never visited this site that much, the responses were always so great, so informative, so helpful. Yes, this isn't a developers mail list by any means, but generally speaking, somebody would now, from the response i've gotten here, i'd say i personally won't visit this site again. I would recommend anybody to more specific help sites:

www.mandrakeusers.org is an excellent resource for mandrake and redhat users, Gentoo's site also has excellent support.

Have fun. Stay jolly.

Have fun... some take it too personal really when given a truthful answer.
Can't be that bad when we have distro forums for Mandrake, Redhat, Slackware and many others that are visited by officials/reps from each distro. Also to mention that our Mandrake forum will probably be visited by the creator himself, something I've heard you don't even see on their own forums.
Patrick Volkerding visits and loves our site...
And Redhat now is making a big move to use our site for their forums... So yeah, we must be doing something right.

Don't take this personal, as I don't try to be rude or inconsiderate, but look at your response compared to my original one. I just clearly stated that unless some member here is an actual developer of a particular plugin or browser, most wont' be able to answer this type of question. Maybe a search for projects or such on google or sourceforge wouldn't be such a bad idea to look into really...

Oh well... we have plenty here that are happy with this site, as we dont' want anyone to leave, we can't force you to stay.

Regards.

The epiphany project site (http://epiphany.mozdev.org/) gives little as to what is coming up. Yes, I've been known to get caught up in the moment...call it a flame...call it what you want...

Just when somebody initially responds with its just "ln -s" gets on my nerves...its a bs answer, not the full truth, and dodging my question and giving a dismall answer.

I meant the question as an open discussion, not a what kind of idiot are you, all you do is type "ln -s" in the terminal and you jave full java support.

yes, i have found answers to a few painful problems here, and would like to thank you guys for putting it up, even if i can be an ass.

My personal rant.

P.S. Whether or not you see him is one thing...whether or not he visits is another
