enlightenment sound
 

I'm running Fedora 2 2.6.6.1.435.2.3 with enlightenment 16.6 with a Audigy 2 zs. esound ver 0.5 XFree 4.3

I just install enlightenment and I love it. I am having a couple difficulties that I would like to address now:
1. enlightenment esound startup error
a. sound will not function fully until I restart enlightenment for the
second time.
b. have updated esound and enlightment with no flaws.
c. sound does operate properly in gnome and kde
2. startup programs
a. have been able to startup xscreensaver properly
b. have not been able to startup my messenger client and system
monitoring software and Enlightenment is not giving me the option
to startup at login on either.
3. menu editing
a. have been able to edit menus but items edited don't always
appear even after 'e_gen_menu'.
b.sometimes the items appear after an X-restart.
c. have tried menu editing software "e16menuedit 0.1" still no go.

I first used enlightenment back in the 90s, and I remember issues with the sound device that apparently seem to be the same conflicts that I'm having now . I'm hoping I can find my "quick fix" and move on to customizing enlightenment instead of worring about sudo hardware problems via software.
