Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Not all of them mind you. All you enlightenment users out there... (this is a recent development) when I minimize an Eterm the icon box recognizes that something was minimized (I can tell by the resizing of the scrollbar) but no icon is there for Eterm. Also when I move the icon box it seems to forget to redraw itself... almost like its locked up.
any suggestions or ideas? perhaps a recompile?
Ok, got some more details... this behavior only occurs with Eterms and the occasional Limewire.
I've experimented a bit and usually from my menu Eterm is invoked as follows...
'Eterm --trans --shade 50' ... this recently got changed to
'Eterm --trans --shade 70'... it is this '--shade 70' portion that is causing the problem.
If I execute with --shade 50 then it minimizes and I see an icon... however if I execute with --shade 51 then it minimizes and it disappears. Sounds like perhaps I need to hard-config an icon to the Eterm app... suggestions on how to do this please.
