I'm trying to install enlightenment (e17) in SuSE 9.3. So far I've compiled eet, evas, ecore, embryo, imlib2, edje, enlightenment in that order as per recommendation of http://enlightenment.freedesktop.org/ However, when I get to the enlightenment package, I have an error in the "make" stage I can't solve. I get the error "/usr/local/bin/edje_cc: error while loading shared libraries: libedje.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" However, the edje package compiled with no problems. I have read where others have solved this with apt-get and repositories. What can I do to solve it in SuSE? Also, I've looked /usr/local/lib and libedje.so.0 is in there. Any ideas anyone?
C'mon you linux Gurus!!!! I've solved probably twenty compiling issues to get to this point and enlightnment is soooo close to be installed. I'm just stuck on this last little hanger...any ideas would be of great help and much appreciated!!!!!
Okay, I got it to compile. Now I am running enlightenment!!! If anyone else ever needs to know....to get past that last compiling error I posted, you need to install libpng and libpng-devel. Thank you to those who read this anyway!!!
Just an fyi for you linux junkies who are interested. Enlightenment window manager is pretty sweet!!!

Now really......Shouldn't have Libpng been installed in the first place anyway?
I Don't understand the mastermind after the installation of distribution without libpng????
Well, in some ackward way, RH and distros based on RH have separated header files needed for compilations into separate packages, so called devel packages.
So, in order to compile anything against some library you need to have it's header files which are strangely enough in devel packages......
Stupid, but ok..
I guess not every distro could be like Slackware.
I need help in solving this . I'm trying to install enlightment elementary package and i'm done with first step ie . configure , when i try to give make i get the following error . I remember someone has solved this earlier .
/usr/local/bin/edje_cc: error while loading shared libraries: libedje.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
