Cool Endnote 6 + cxoffice works!

For those who are looking for a citation manager:
Although Endnote v5 is reported on Codeweavers' page as 'Known not to work', Endnote v6 is fully functional with MS Word 2000!

I am running Debian-unstable with 2.6.7 kernel, CrossOver Office 3.01, MS Office 2000 premium and Endnote 6, works like a charm!

One think to keep in mind: it only works well if you install Endnote after MS Office. Otherwise Endnote starts with a non-functional window where you ought to choose your preferred database. Not being able to select anything there renders the program pretty useless.

Cheers, Leon.

Have you told Thomson this? They may want to
a) continue selling Endnote 6 now that this new demand has sprung up;
b) advertise to that market;
c) take this into consideration in future development.

http://www.endnote.com/support/entechform.asp

If you haven't yet, I'd like to.

Thanks,

Samsara

Edit: Unfortunately, I don't seem to be "allowed", for whatever reason (!), to send you a private message.
Edit2: Sent you an email instead.

As I found out after reporting this to Codeweavers, Endnote v7 appears to work as well. I have not contacted Thomson yet, thanks for the suggestion I'll do it straight away.

Cheers, Leon.
