Having problems, I typed

'service sshd start' in root returns cmd not found

same if i just type service

chkconfig is an invalid command as well.

What do I need to do to install these commands into my system?

How did you go about switching to the ROOT user ?

In order for these commands to work, you must be root.
To become root, at the command line, type:
Code:
su -
To find out the location of a command, type:
Code:
whereis command
To see if SSHd is installed on your system, as root, type:
Code:
rpm -qa | grep ssh
