any views on the best or most appropriate email program for a single user off a home workstation?

depends what you want to do. persoanlly i'd say the best is pine, which is why i use it. but if you need an OE clone, then sylpheed, as it conforms to more unix mail standards than kmail or wothers.

thanks for your advice; i had seen pine mentioned favorably before, so pine it will be-just sent first message-what are attachment size limits?

there aren't any limits. why should there be? it is only an email client...

thanks for the links, esp., "Things...", i never got too deep into windows, just to do dvd and digital cam-didn't like the 'do it our way" dictum.
